Don’t involve in social vices, channel your energy to positive things – Principal tells youths
Youths across the country have been advised to shun social vices and channel their energy to positive things.
The Principal of Bodija International Schools, Ibadan, Frank Dairo, gave this advice while speaking at a press conference to herald the maiden edition of Justice Kayode Edo football tournament on Monday in Ibadan.
DAILY POST reports that Justice Kayode Eso was a prominent Nigerian jurist who served as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
Present at the event were the Chairman, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Oyo State chapter, Mr. Adeniyi Alebiosu, Head of Schools, Architect Olumide Eso and representatives of the participating schools among others.
Dairo, while addressing the journalists, said that a lot of youths across the country are restless.
He then advised the youths to channel the energy they have to do positive things.
Dairo while advising the youths to shun social vices, explained that one of the aims of the competition was to discover talents among the youths.
He added that the three-day competition which will have eight schools in attendance was also aimed to arrest youth restless.
He said, “We observed that a lot of youths are restless. We want them to channel their energy to positive things.
“We want them to use the energy for positive things.
We want to prepare them for the future.
“We want to arrest youth restless. If the energy is used for positive things, it will be better. It is not about who wins, it is about participation. It is about engaging the youths”.
