42 civil society groups to embark on tour of TETFund projects across Nigeria
No fewer than 42 civil society groups under the auspices of the Centre for Accountability and Transparency in Nigeria (CATIN) have expressed readiness to inspect Tertiary Education Fund (TETFund) projects across the nation.
Ambassador John Oriri Ali, who stated this in a statement issued on behalf of the groups, said the aim was to scrutinise the various activities of the agency.
According to Ali, the tour is “necessary to separate facts from fiction, mediocrity from excellence, and results from oversights.”
He said the choice of TETFUND followed reports of its activities under the leadership of Executive Secretary Sonny Echono in the last two years.
Ali further revealed that after the exercise, a detailed report will be made public to Nigerians on how the tertiary agency has fared under Echono.
