Nigeria at 63: Citizens are suffering, provide solutions – Idoma USA group tells FG
The Idoma Association USA, has congratulated Idoma people, both at home and in the diaspora, and Nigerians at large on the occasion of the country’s 63rd Independence Day Anniversary.
The premier Idoma diasporic group, while noting that Nigeria has remained united and focused despite the numerous challenges confronting the nation, urged governments at all levels to find immediate solutions to the current economic hardship in the country.
The association, in a statement signed by its President General, Prince Edwin Ochai, admonished the government to implement policies and programs that are focused on the people and will revive the Nigerian economy, as well as create job opportunities for the youth.
The statement read, “Dear Nigerians,
“On behalf of the Idoma Association USA, we extend our warm greetings as the nation celebrates its 63rd Independence Day. We join all Idoma people, both at home and in the diaspora, in remembering and honoring the patriotism of those who fought for Nigeria’s freedom.
“We are pleased that despite the numerous challenges facing the country, Nigeria remains focused and united. However, we urge the government at all levels to remember the grief and suffering that Nigerians are currently experiencing and find ways to provide the necessary support.
“We encourage the government to implement policies and programs that are focused on the people and will revive the Nigerian economy, as well as create job opportunities for the youth.
“Idoma USA congratulates all Nigerians, especially the Idoma people, for their unwavering belief and faith in the country, despite not always being treated fairly by the present government. We are confident that things will improve, and we pray for peace, love, and joy to thrive in Idoma land.
“May God bless Nigeria, and long live Idoma Land, Benue State, and Nigeria.”
