His record of incisive investment and vision to digitalise Nigeria remains unequal. Cutting deals in the tech and business space in general comes easy to this genial billionaire businessman. Ekeh’s last revolutionary deal was his acquisition of that leading Nigeria composite e-Commerce giant, Konga. As a digital icon and 21st Century Tech King, he has brought innovation and needed competition into the space, turning Konga into a top-of-the-mind brand and expanding his market share as one of the largest online retail platforms in the country. As he has altered the equation in Nigeria, Africa’s biggest economy through innovation, experience and quality corporate culture, Ekeh, an Indian-trained economist and Global Advisor to Microsoft, is plotting a Pan-Africa experience in renewable energy. Through Zinox Technologies Limited —Ekeh’s renowned computer hardware manufacturing and ICT integration company— he has revealed plans to invest over $250 million in renewable energy projects across Africa. The multimillion-dollar investment, according to Ekeh, aims to expand access to competitive and climate-friendly electricity supplies for both homes and businesses in Nigeria.
Spotlight learnt that Ekeh has already secured funds for this ambitious endeavour as he is really poised to create new opportunities for enhancing the quality of life. Zinox has equally established a strategic partnership with leading renewable energy companies in China, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates to achieve its goals effectively. To ensure the successful implementation of these projects, Zinox has already commenced training for over 500 Nigerian engineers and certified technicians from all 36 states, along with Abuja. These skilled professionals will be responsible for conducting standard power audits, installations, and after-sales support nationwide, ensuring customers receive full value for their investment. Ekeh, the 67-year old Imo State-born billionaire is a visionary entrepreneur who founded Zinox Group in 2001 as a pioneer in West Africa’s computer manufacturing and information and communications technology solutions.
