4 Airtel Inverter batteries stolen in Oyo, recovered in Lagos

Four inverter batteries belonging to Airtel Communication Ltd,that were stolen in Atiba Town, Oyo State, have been recovered in Lagos.
The items were stolen by robbers on June 13, who stormed the premises of the company at the wee hours;tied the security guard on duty, and made away with the items valued at N3million.
According to a senior Police officer, who spoke on the condition of anonymity as he was not supposed to speak with the press, on June 13, at about 2.30 pm, a security Consultant, reported to Isola Police Station, Lagos, that one of the sites of their clients, Airtel Communication, Atiba, Oyo State was vandalized between 3 to 4 am of June 13.
” The consultant stated that after the hoodlums had successfully tied up the security guard on duty, they made away with four brand new Incell Inverter Batteries valued at N3 million.
” He stated further that the robbers did not know that that the inverters have tracking device inside them,so a team of policemen was deployed to work with the tracking data he provided”.
The police officer said that after a few hours of painstaking intelligence, the inverters were recovered inside Sokoto/Gombe motor Garage, Ijora Badia , Lagos .
He stated further that a yet-to-be identified person brought the batteries at about 9.am wrapped inside cartoons to be be transported to Sokoto State .
Lagos State Police Publlic Relations Officer(PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the story,said the converter batteries were taken to the Ijora/Badiya police station where the incident was reported and that the Command has contacted the Oyo State Police Command where the items were stolen .
Mr Hundeyin said the police were on the trail of the people who brought the batteries to the park and that investigation was ongoing into the robbery incident.
